About Me
I currently live in Howell, New Jersey with my wife and 2 children. I am a Internet Marketing Specialist and Web Developer with over 10 years experience. I enjoy my work and the relationships I have made through this blog, my business Internet Marketing NJ and local business directory OurMonmouth.com.
For me it started with the TRS-30 in my Junior High School. I wrote my first program in BASIC and marveled at the possibilities. I have watched and participated in the growth of the Internet since its infancy. Pre-Internet in 1984 I created and ran my first BBS (Bulletin Board System) on a Apple //e with 2 5 1/4 Floppy Drives. My 300 baud modem seemed so impressive then. Since then I have developed, designed, managed, and owned dozens of websites. It is amazing how far the Internet has developed and how many fortunes have been won. Over the past 10 years I have focused on web development and now Internet marketing as a specialty. When it comes to my design style my motto has always been simplicity and specificity. Simple, easy to use, and focused content have been the ingredients for my web successes.
Even though my passion is technology, I have always been an entrepreneur and business man at heart. I have worked for a number of large corporations in various capacities on both the business and technology side. Most recently I was an Interaction Engineer for a large consumer bank. I understand the effort that is involved in managing and successfully marketing a business. I am amazed at how many people in my industry are blind to the fact that Internet marketing is only 1 facet of marketing a business. Technology can play are role in the success or failure of a business but there are so many factors that need to be considered and understood.
My passion is to continue to build the businesses and community directory for the Monmouth County, New Jersey area. I feel extremely satisfied when people tell me that my work has connected them to something in the community. The Internet is a powerful tool not only for the business but the consumer as well. I feel like I have quoted this many times but it is so compelling that I feel the need to quote it again. “According to the Pew Internet & American Life Project Tracking February-April 2006 survey, 73% of American adults use the Internet. At the time of the survey this represents approximately 147 million people. 91% of those Internet users used a search engine to find information on-line.” Business owners need to respect and understand what that means to your businesses bottom line.
I really enjoy what I do and cherish the wonderful relationships I have developed with many talented people over the years. I look forward to hearing all of your insight and contributions.
Wishing you success

Howard,
I agree with the importance that the web holds as a tool for the residents of Monmouth County especially during tough times.
As a psychiatrist, I have concerns about the toll that today’s economic troubles are having among our neighbors. More and more, I hear “I think I need help but I’m worried about spending the money, any money.” This often leads to poor outcomes with people waiting too long to get help.
If a person sees a doctor/therapist simply because he or she is in network and receives 10-15 minutes for an assessment, was the appointment worth anything at all?
To this end I suggest the following as advice that can help ensure that you are getting proper treatment:
1) Is the diagnosis proper? Was enough time allotted for this to be possible?
2) If medication is being suggested, is it in the lowest dose that is effective? Is it tailored to your particular situation and needs?
3) Are calls returned within 24 hours?
4) Are appointments offered within 7 days?
Are the clinicians Board Certified, licensed. etc.?
Hope this help,
Jason L Cohen, MD
