The YMCA of Western Monmouth County is now accepting membership into its newly formed Tri-Club. Membership is free to all members of the YMCA as part of its fitness programs. The charter meeting open to its members is scheduled for April 25th at 9:00am at the YMCA facility located at 470 East Freehold Road, Freehold.

The YMCA Tri-Club is dedicated to promoting running, biking, and swimming either combined as a triathlon or independently for sport or as part of a healthy lifestyle. The Tri-Club’s mission is to represent and promote the common interest of its members, events, and individuals through education, leadership, programs and services that uphold the spirit, values, and sense of community which are core principles of the YMCA.

Founding member Howard Stein says“The YMCA truly is a wonderful place. The facilities are top notch, the staff is excellent, and you have some of the best local athletes and enthusiasts of all levels training here. We wanted a place to train and provide support to anyone interested in training for a triathlon or any of the individual components for competition or fitness locally. The management of the YMCA really stepped up to the plate and is fully behind the effort.”

The YMCA of Western Monmouth County is a mission driven, value based, non-profit organization that has served the communities of Western Monmouth and Mercer Counties for over 100 years. Our doors are open to all community members who wish to take advantage of the varied selection of programs and services available to them. The YMCA is governed by a Board of Directors; volunteers who reflect a wide variety of our community members. Together, these individuals develop policies and procedures for the staff to implement. The YMCA is a unique organization that offers confidential financial assistance to those who qualify through the “Y Cares Financial Assistance Program”.
